Since January 2026, I've been working alongside NPI engineering at Edwards Vacuum as a Mechanical and Integration engineer to develop a new piece of semiconductor equipment. It's been great to work with a team at the later stages of the design process where the new system is being built alongside manufacturing. The work has focussed largely on building around a new architecture that puts cost effectiveness and serviceability as primary aims for the new system.

Some of the skills which have been honed through this piece of work, are:
- Quick turn around of technical part and assembly drawings to BS8888, including sheet metal and weldment specifications
- Collaborating with electrical, controls, and manufacturing engineers to design suitable system hardware
- Design For Assembly and Design For Manufacture, considering the flow of materials and timing of installations on shop floor
